Unleashing young talent in our local communities through music awareness

Joined by The Muffinz, Soweto Theatre`s Music Tutorial Programme will once again conduct workshops in the community from 21 to 23 June.

 As part of its music awareness and qualification support initiative, Soweto Theatre has teamed up with the talented and internationally acclaimed group 'The Muffinz' to bring joy through music at Adelaide Tambo School in White City, Jabavu, Soweto from the 21st to the 23rd of June. Adelaide Tambo School provides education to learners with physical disabilities and those with learning disabilities. 

The programme has reached more than 10 schools. Some of which include Florida Park High School, Daliwonga Secondary School, Thabajabula Secondary School and Westridge High School. 

The Theatre has embarked on a mission to assist the development of live music while simultaneously ensuring that the theatre is accessible to the community and meets its development and empowerment objectives. 

The Music Tutorial Programme is also made possible by the support of Concerts SA. 

Subsequent to the workshops, The Muffinz will perform live at the Sounds of Soweto concert at Soweto Theatre on Friday, 30 June at Soweto Theatre. The concert is in partnership with His and Hers Jams.
